I am a doctoral extern enrolled in Adler University’s Clinical Psychology Doctoral program. As a therapist, I have a strong interest in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I have had prior experience working in community mental health and other outpatient settings. When working with children and adolescents, I emphasize the importance of consultation, communication, and understanding. I acknowledge the challenges of parenthood and believe it is important to involve caregivers in the treatment of their child within the scope of the child’s consent and comfortability. My therapeutic lens is strongly influenced by Adlerian theory, which highlights individual differences, social context, and purpose. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe and affirming environment for clients to explore their own behavior and experience. I believe that the client is the expert in their own identity and life experience. My role as a therapist is to assist the client in processing their experience while simultaneously offering support through the therapeutic relationship, to assist them in developing effective coping skills, and to provide a safe place for reflection.
