(She/They)
Hello! My name is Peyton, and I am a Doctoral Extern in Clinical Psychology at Adler University. I currently hold a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology as well. I became a therapist so that I can help others with their healing journey. To me, one of the most important parts of therapy is fostering a safe, welcoming, and warm environment for clients to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Reaching out for help can be a vulnerable process, and I am committed to making sure that my clients feel safe in taking those steps forward, with me. I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Every person has their own unique insights, experiences, beliefs, strengths, and challenges. One of the most important tenets of the work that I do is tailoring my approach to the goals of my client. I do this by taking a collaborative approach to treatment and goal-setting. My hope is to take steps towards sustainable change together and explore what growth, healing, and wellness looks like for each individual. I greatly value social justice and reflect that in my work by utilizing a trauma-informed lens and working through a strengths-based approach with a focus on personal empowerment. Other influences on my work include humanistic and existential models, feminist models, and relational approaches. In the past, I have worked with clients of a wide variety of ages, identities, and presenting concerns, and I particularly have a passion for working with the LGBTQIA+ community. When I’m not working or at school, you can find me on a hike or spending time in nature, seeing live music, crafting and DIYing, or watching horror movies!
